Sistahs Acts
of Kindness
Sistahs Acts of Kindness, Inc. is founded by Angela Rudolph and is comprised of a dynamic collective of Black women who have firsthand experience raising children with developmental challenges such as ADHD, autism, or emotional and behavioral issues. What sets this incredible group apart is that each woman has achieved both personal and professional success while ensuring the well-being of their own children. However, their journeys intersected with social barriers that hindered proper care for their children, economic stability to support their needs, and access to resources readily available to their White counterparts facing similar circumstances.
Each woman's story is a testament to the external support and kindness they received from family members, friends, access to arts and cultural programs, and their sheer determination. These factors helped them establish robust support systems for their children while simultaneously pursuing personal and professional fulfillment for their families. They recognize that this was no easy feat and understand that not every family has the same access and outcomes. Thus, Sistahs Acts of Kindness, Inc. was born.
Their mission includes youth development advocacy and provide acts of kindness to families facing similar challenges. They offer a supportive environment where working families can thrive, irrespective of any developmental disability or learning or emotional challenge their children may have. The organization is piloting a new afterschool program with one of the elementary schools in the Princeton Independent School District of Cincinnati, OH.
